Why do people vote for the Devil? I did it once, very embarrassingly, in 1972, it was my first vote, I was 18. I even did it in Boston, MA. NEVER AGAIN!
Considering McCain's recent statements here is some correspondence I had with Senator John McCain:

In September of 2005, I wrote Sen. McCain and asked about the now infamous Downing Street Memo. Some time previous to the memo it had already been alleged that the intelligence had been "sexed up". The memo recorded the head of MI6 as expressing the view following his recent visit to Washington that "Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being "fixed around" emphasis added the policy." It also quoted Foreign Secretary Jack Straw as saying that it was clear that Bush had "made up his mind" to take military action but that "the case was thin", and the Attorney-General Lord Goldsmith as warning that justifying the invasion on legal grounds would be difficult. Later, in the New York Times, Amb. Wilson would use the phrase [http://www.nytimes.com/2003/07/06/opinion/06WILS.html?pagewanted=1&ei=5007&en=6c6aeb1ce960dec0&ex=1372824000&partner=USERLAND] "twisted to exaggerate" the Iraqi threat. 

The above are notes and personal blogs, i.e., personally published writings, where I put online McCain's response to my letter. (I even once wrote his wife to complain about him.) I now include and amend those writings, to show McCain failings of logic and decency. I also ask readers who know me personally to remember one important fact that today is obscured at every turn by small but vociferous political groups who feel morally superior to all "other": it is my Right to criticize my government and its Representatives notwithstanding my own personal failings or likability. I am not running for elected office, a position of power. I have a vote, a voice. My answers and my questions, my very beliefs, are therein contained. I WILL write those officials and call them to account for actions taken on my behalf, hopefully before they make those tragic mistakes. Therefore:

In September of 2005, I wrote McCain a letter referring to the three terms or phrases above that were reported BEFORE the invasion. If you recall, there were American congresspersons very concerned about these failings of intelligence. Led by John Conyers, they met in the basement, somehow not allowed to see the light of day (look it up), somehow painted as quacks. 

In light of McCain's notorious desire to bomb innocent people (1. see: Vietnam, where McCain suffered enormously after only 5 hours of actual combat, at thousands or perhaps hundreds of feet in the air above in a super-sonic jet; 2. see: "Beach Boy" McCain "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb bomb Iran") and his very recent comment on Susan Rice as NOT comparable to his support of Condoleezza Rice. Recall, that in the selling of another wrong on all fronts war, particularly morally, the Iraq invasion, Condoleezza Rice went on national TV and said, "The problem here is that there will always be some uncertainty about how quickly Saddam can acquire nuclear weapons. But we don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud." At least the disgraced Collin Powell has enough conscience left to say he was wrong in misleading the world and taking us to war. 

I took particular issue with a simple word: "fixed". McCain responded with: "I am not certain that this British usage of the term "fixed

Sen. McCain responded in a letter: "I am not certain that this British use of the word "fixed" has the same meaning which we might give to it in our country." Despite that both Merriam-Webster and Oxford give the same meanings for the word, McCain might have asked somebody, a linguist perhaps? I can recommend one that is very well respected, checkout the very available: 'Chomsky at West Point' (perhaps youtube, for sure), speaking to cadets on these very issues (read: his book: Failed States).

Note that in McCain's response (link to that letter: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B-tm_wfef9DCYVBMZ0NkeGVpOHc), or, just take my synopsis as given herein) not only does he not use a dictionary, neither British (Oxford), nor American (Webster's), but at the end of the letter he writes in his last, pre-closing, sentence: "I will also continue to push for an overhaul of our intelligence community, so that WE DO NOT SEE FAILURES LIKE THOSE THAT TOOK PLACE BEFORE THE WAR IN IRAQ." [emphasis added.]

I told McCain after "Iraq" to do the world a favor and retire, but No. He was nowhere near done, demanded to be President; took a huge whompping (sp?); and gave us endless piles of shit in Sarah Palin.

McCain proves once again that he is nothing a war-monger punk. As I write this the news says he missed the briefing on Benghazi today because he was holding a news conference. This immediate prosecution rest. Bush rejected our joining the World Court, where war criminals meet their end.

Sure, I intensely dislike McCain, but anyone with a brain should know that he is a pathological liar, unfit for leadership and public service. Simply, he never was anything else, read his biography and also his military record.

Lindsey Graham? laughable. The woman from Maine(?) that appears with them ought to be ashamed.
